Guardian Life Insurance Company of America Selects Opsware

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, the fourth largest mutual life insurance company in the United States, is using Opsware automation to more effectively manage application rollouts and upgrades, new deployments, and to generate detailed reports for financial planning and budgeting.

Guardian uses Opsware products on more than 8,000 assets across 60 locations. "Opsware automation software provides us with greater visibility and control over our assets, enabling compliance with corporate and regulatory policies, and supporting enterprise standardization," said Dennis Callahan, executive vice president and CIO of Guardian.

Opsware's technology is also instrumental in Guardian's security and risk management initiatives, including contingency planning and disaster recovery, patch and virus management, and inventory reporting across geographically distributed locations. Using Opsware automation, Guardian benefits from increased operational efficiencies, tighter security and a deeper level of control over their environment.

"Automation is the cornerstone of a strong security and compliance strategy," said Tim Howes, CTO and executive vice president of development at Opsware Inc. "Guardian is a leader in the insurance industry, and Opsware automation is critical to helping them gain greater control of their environment and maximize their technology investments."
