GridApp Systems Inc. has
joined Opsware's Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. Through the
partnership, GridApp Systems and Opsware will provide access to a broad range of
Data Center Automation capabilities, enabling customers to more rapidly achieve
operational efficiencies and reduce labor costs across their IT
infrastructures.
"The ad-hoc management and lack of standardization across today's data
centers have left many organizations looking for a way to automate complex and
time consuming IT operations," said Dave Maples, vice president of business
development and strategic alliances for GridApp Systems. "GridApp and Opsware
have already provided our mutual customers with an integrated and comprehensive
approach to data center management -- including best practices for the
administration and security of mission-critical databases. Joining Opsware's
Technology Alliance Partner program will allow us to further enhance our
integration and help customers achieve even greater levels of cost
savings."
With the cost and complexity of today's IT infrastructure spiraling out of
control, enterprises are turning to IT Automation to increase productivity,
ensure policy compliance, remediate security threats and reduce labor expenses.
The Opsware Technology Alliance Partner program supports the increasing demand
for this technology by providing an effective way to address customer needs for
server, network and application automation. As the fastest growing data center
automation vendor, Opsware will provide GridApp Systems the opportunity to
integrate with its award-winning IT Automation software and leverage its global
sales and marketing activities to generate customer leads and drive
revenue.
GridApp's Clarity software is the first solution to focus exclusively on
simplifying and automating time-consuming database operations while offering a
much-needed single view across heterogeneous database platforms. GridApp Clarity
complements Opsware's IT Automation software, providing a best practices
approach to cross-platform database management using specialized automation
processes for configuration management, patch management, auditing, replication
and encryption. By simplifying repetitive tasks and enforcing standard operating
procedures, the joint solution enables organizations to dramatically improve the
reliability and performance of their data center environment. The combined
Opsware and GridApp solution has already enabled a Fortune 500 financial
institution to significantly increase operational efficiencies and reduce costs
across its heterogeneous server and database infrastructure.
"By combining Opsware's IT Automation software with GridApp's database
automation solution, customers will benefit from a broader spectrum of critical
IT Automation capabilities," said John O'Farrell, executive vice president of
business development at Opsware Inc. "The joint technologies will provide
customers with a comprehensive data center management solution, which has become
a necessity for today's enterprises as they focus on cutting costs, increasing
operational efficiencies, and generating immediate ROI."
